Visual Effects Supervisor

IMAX approached me to be the VFX Supervisor for their new trailer.  I worked closely with Director Jackson Myers to establish the look of the piece.  Being attached to Method Studios at this time, we brought it there where I Supervised a team of talented artists, to bring this epic piece to life.  This is a fully stereoscopic 4k piece.  We shot in Toronto at Pinewood Studios on a Red Epic Dragon. 
It was an honor working with Jackson, who's Mother Tony Myers I have worked with many times over the years, and an honor to finally have had the chance to work with Dylan Reade, who trained and worked with my mentor Noel Archambault. It was also a great honor to work with veteran IMAX DOP Marc Poirier, Keith Sam Jr., Katie O'Reilly,  and the rest of the amazing team.

I was called up to do a last minute fix on a shot for this film which has no other visual effects in it. The film is beautifully shot, and listening to Dylan Reade's stories of bonding with the orangutans while filming was truly inspirational.

A Beautiful film, I highly reccomend seeing this.

I had the honor on working with Paul Judkins, Samuel Zhou, Ed Lepieszo, and the Research and Development team at IMAX to help bring the quality of 2D to 3D conversion to the next level.  As Artistic Advisor for R and D, I was to create ways of restoring the occlusions accurately so that real world dimensions could be achieved and true, photo real, 3D achieved.  We created a product that was extremely real to life with a seamless image.  This process was very labor intensive and so we set to work putting together a team of just over 100 artists.  We created a complete pipeline for the process and trained up the artists for their roles. 

As the Head of Compositing, I was responsible for quality control on every shot and directly supervised a team of about 30 artists.
The turn around time on many of these shots was truly insane but we worked around the clock and made the deadline.
Superman Returns was the first ever 2D to 3D converted film to have a simultaneous 2D and 3D release.
